Chronicling the LAPD's attempts at keeping the East Coast mafiosa at bay, Sean Penn spearheads an awesome cast including swoon maestro Ryan Gosling in Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer's epic new gangster flick Gangster Squad.

Based on the 'true story' of New York gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) and his violent attempted entry into LA, Gangster Squad looks like the slick celluloid lovechild of The Untouchables and LA Confidential. Not such a bad thing, as long as Fleischer keeps things fresh and safe of screen stereotypes.
