Back in my day (like 1980 something) we had things like Sesame Street,
The Muppets etc, and while these programs were amazing in their own
right, it was truly rare to find a show that appealed almost equally to
adults and super-young kids. This has never been more true than now,
with the realm of kid's TV currently awash with condescending shit such
as The Wiggles, Teletubbies (where did they go?) and other insipid
shows that feel more like TV-activated lobotomies than anything of
value.
Enter Yo! Gabba Gabba.
Never has kid's programming been this good. Featuring a cast of
obligatory hyper-coloured creatures, lead by DJ Lance Rock, the show
has a continual stream of ridiculously awesome guests, including a
regular beatboxing segment with Biz Markie, a how-to-draw segment with
Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo fame, as well as The Shins, Cornelius, Shiny
Toy Guns, Rahzel, Tony Hawk, and Elijah Wood among others, keeping the
adults as entertained as their children.
However, the best part of the show would have to be the music, which
wouldn't be out of place in most clubs. Check
