Everyone knows that I have been stuck in the 80s for some time now. Take it as you will; good or bad, the 80s represented our street sub-culture arguably better than any other decade. So many of the fashion and music styles we love were being born and shaped then, and also more importantly represented through the skate culture that was starting to explode. But are these all just fading memories for people who are now behind the scenes? Did the styles and memories really have such a huge impact on today's music and fashion? Do they still influence? Is anything new? AM I GOING CRAZY?

Well I lay awake at night with many questions, so it’s always comforting when I learn that people like Thrasher Magazine have started to do a 'Google' and scan every page of their magazines in from 1981 onwards. They are up to 1985 now. I personally can not wait for 1987 and 1988, as those two years, in my opinion, were some of the most influential for the sports and industries as a whole.

So if you want to see emo before it was emo, Burton before people knew what a snowboard was, Hawk when he was 47kgs and Gator before... well you know, then get onto Thrasher and check them out. If you are smart enough, you may be able to rip off next seasons fashion trend from these pages!

Check it all out below, have to use the archive drop down to get them all.
