Love it or hate it, the power of McDonald's is pretty phenomenal. It's the largest chain of hamburger restaurants in the world, is spread over 119 countries and has 68 million customers per day– and it also started out in 1940 as a BBQ joint.
In 1948, brothers Mac and Dick McDonald decided to focus on hamburgers, which turned out to be a wise move. Located in San Bernardino California, the brothers set up an assembly line to make burger flipping more efficient, which still remains today.
We've also included the original Ronald McDonald in 1963, who will surely haunt your dreams forever.
