Remember the good ole days when brands could get away with blatantly
lying to your face about the benefits of their products. They'd even go
to the trouble of enlisting "professionals" and "science" to endorse
and support their bullshit. Stuff like that never happens these days...
never at all... Well OK, maybe it does, but no-one was as comfortable
swimming in their own shit as the tobacco industry. They would happily
get dentistS, doctors, nurses, babies, actors, singers, penguins, whatever it took
to lead you to believe that smoking was actually great for your health
and quality of life in general.
The Stanford School of Medicine has collected and archived an
absolutely massive gallery of original advertisements that the tobacco industry used to hide the hazards of smoking. All are available at
