When browsing these absolutely 1000000% adorable and delightful photos of roller-skaters at Venice Beach back in 1979 a few songs got stuck in our heads. (Mostly it was 'Summer of '69' but we sang it as 'Summer of '79' instead. We're cool like that.)

So instead of creating a post that describes what you can already see – a bunch of cute-heads in magnificent outfits having the time of their young lives in what was described (by Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley) as "the roller skating capital of the world" – we attempted putting together a soundtrack for you to listen to while looking at the photos.

We came up a with a few tracks from '79: Blondie 'Atomic', Cheap Trick 'I Want You to Want Me', Boney M 'Two of Us', Prince 'I Wanna Be Your Lover'... It went on. But then we realised there is just one, entirely perfect, track that was released in 1979 that you should chair-dance to while perusing these images.

"It makes me feel like 'WOOOO!'" – Michael Jackson, 1979
