Whether it's due to an advance in modern medicine or the fact that misguided rock stars frequent rehab centres like most people do McDonalds, the so-called "hardcore musos" of today don't seem to die like they used to. What ever happened to people choking on vomit or chicken bones in a drug induced seizure or good ol' fashion alcohol poisoning? Please don't get me wrong, I don't want to advocate drug abuse or suicide but as fucked up as it sounds, there is a certain romantic notion in living the rock'n'roll lifestyle and dying in your prime only to be idolised for eternity.

Well, it seems a whole lot more appealing than falling out of a tree in your 60s (no offense Keith).

After some digging we uncovered 14 final resting places, plaques and death certificates of those that lived and died hard. They hardly seem a tribute to the way they chose to live their lives but that tribute no doubt exists in their music that will be enjoyed for ever.

He's just taking a little Nanna-nap. I just can't believe Hendrix died when he was 28. I feel so old and useless now. What have I done with my life? Well, apart from not drowning in my own vomit...?

Bob Marley's cancer started on his toe and was easily treatable - he was just too stoned to have it sorted. Then he died. idiot.
