Steven Spielberg
In 1982: Had two box office records with

Indiana Jones, was nominated for 9 Academy Awards for
E.T, was making serious $$$.
In 2012: Hasn't achieved much. Except for either directing, writing or producing

Gremlins, Back to the Future, Cape Fear, Hook, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Twister, Men in Black, AI: Artificial Intelligence, Vanilla Sky, Catch Me if You Can, The Lovely Bones, Memoirs of a Geisha, True Grit, Minority Report and
War Horse.
Henry Thomas
In 1982: Played Elliott, succeeding at both warming our hearts and seeming constantly on the edge of tears.
In 2012: Appeared in
Legends of the Fall and
Gangs of New York. Now plays for a band called The Blue Heelers (Lisa McCune not included).
Drew Barrymore
In 1982: Was the most adorable child star ever. EVER. Sometimes hung out with President Reagan.
In 2012: After her rebellious teenage years of drug use, appearing naked in Playboy, and hanging out with Corey Feldman, Drew Barrymore cleaned herself up, started a production company and spent her time making serious blockbuster dough and appearing
in critically acclaimed indie movies. She is still everyone's favourite.
Robert MacNaughton
In 1982: Played Elliott's older brother, also performed a lot of Shakespeare in his spare time.
In 2012: Has given up acting and now lives in Arizona. Still gets called "Penis Breath*.
