GM Motorama
The second world war brought with it years of a dormant civilian automotive industry, mostly due to its focus on the production of warcraft tanks etc. When the war was over, along with peace and prosperity it brought with it a new air of optimism. Rather than focusing on day to day survival, people were finally looking to the future with hope and this attitude was shared across all aspects of modern life, the automotive industry being no exception.

In 1953 General Motors, responsible for cars like Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac, held it's first of 8 motor shows under the name of GM Motorama sending the previously starved auto enthusiasts into a frenzy. The shows featured, out of this world, futuristic dream cars of the likes that no one had ever seen before with designs that would still be considered futuristic.

Incredible. Equally incredible to think that a company that was so clearly avant garde, artful and well loved is now a dismal shell ready to be crush inside out. Shame on the modern auto makers who now just take cheap shits and expect us to drive them.
