Golden Globe winning actress, singer, nightclub entertainer, Playboy Playmate and one of the biggest babes of the 1950s and '60s, Jayne Mansfield is more than qualified to become a member Lifelounge's Babes Of Our Lives series.
Mansfield become hugely famous throughout the mid to late '50s with her successes on theatre, film and television earning her not only awards but global sex symbol status. She was considered the 'working man's Marilyn Monroe' was 20th Century Fox's go to girl if Monroe wasn't available.
Unfortunately though, due the fickle and shallow nature of Hollywood, her career began to decline in the early '60s as the demand for buxom blonde babes dried up. She still managed to find work and was still massively popular overseas more as a celebrity than an actress right up until the car accident in 1967 that tragically took her life.
However, Jayne Mansfield lives on posthumously as one of the great babes of our lives.
