As long as I've been aware of them, condom packaging design has always been synonymous with cheesy soft-porn/mills&boon style imagery of a couple mid-embrace or a half naked woman in a provocative pose. They're generally very poor design pieces and I've never really given it much thought until I came across a collectione of images of condom package tins from between the 30s and 50s (yes grandma and grandpa used condoms too). Some beautiful and sometimes amusing use of type, illustration colour and design.
