Hey guy, got a spare $18 thousand? Maybe you’d like to buy a new camera.
Luxury US brand Neiman Marcus have teamed up with Leica to create a limited edition digital camera and the end result is as impressive as it is expensive. While the handwritten letter from the company CEO, personalised engraving and the “luxurious brown ostrich leather” that covers the camera are certainly nice touches, photography aficionados are probably more interested in the tech aspects. Like, say, the 18 megapixel sensor. Or the fact this is “the world's only digital rangefinder camera with interchangeable lenses”.
Point being: this is about as swish and ostentatious as cameras get. The sort of thing you might use while holidaying on a yacht in Monaco. Or taking ‘social pics’ at a relevant house party in the Hollywood Hills.
Only 50 have been produced in the whole world, so you better hurry! Failing that, you can always get yourself Leica’s $26 thousand
M9 Titanium. The rest of us will have to settle for the $700
V-Lux 20.
