So, at first glance this product is just an extra button for your already existing iPhone camera. Here's the thing: the brains behind Red Pop really dig the iPhone 4 camera, but felt like a bunch of shots were missed when "you have to play 'hunt the fire button'". The Red Pop button is basically going to mean that there's less lag time between shots (something a lot of iPhone 4 users we know are very aware of) – so you get more bang for your button.
At the moment, the gadget is on Kickstarter so it doesn't exist for real yet. The prototype, however, has a brushed aluminium finish and a textured plastic grip over the metal barrel. It's going to come complete with a wrist-strap and protective pouch. The designers also have grand plans for extra bits and pieces, including tripods and cases and stuff.
It does beg the question (like so many of these iPhone camera add-ons) about actual cameras vs smart-phones becoming all things to all people.
