According to some study we wrote about in this week’s
Trashbaggery column, Apple is now the most valuable brand name in the world. Thanks to the success of the iPhone/iPad/iPod/iTunes, everyone wants a piece of the company and Steve Jobs is so rich he could actually have an army of flying monkeys if he felt like it.
While tech companies try to cash in on Apple’s success with similar products, Lauren Anabela has taken a more direct route – creating jewellery from Apple products. Visit Lauren’s Etsy shop and you’ll find a host of necklaces, cufflinks, rings and miscellaneous pieces crafted from the remnants of old Apple keyboards. These are part of her Computer Key jewellery line and sell from $70 and up.
While we appreciate Lauren’s entrepreneurial zeal, we’re on the fence about these. The radiation from our computer monitors hasn’t quite killed our libidos and we would actually like to attempt sexy-times with another human at some point in the (near?) future. Wearing Apple branded jewellery pretty much guarantees that won’t happen... Or does it?
Seriously though, is Apple branded jewellery a deal-breaker? Feedback and ‘hilarious’ dating stories below, please.
