There’s no accounting for taste. Just ask the Russians. Or Stuart Hughes. Based in Liverpool, the dude specialises in taking high tech gadgets and plating them in a combination of gold, diamonds and jewels.
It may be a niche industry, but Hughes has been tarting up TVs, games consoles, mobile phones and random gear for Saudi Royals and Russian Oligarchs for several years now. They’re pretty much the only people who think spending $2 million on a gold plated plasma television is a good idea. Still, it probably matches their gold plated laptops ($400,000 Macbook Air) and solid gold mobiles ($30,000 iPhone).
Anyways, Hughes' latest and greatest creation is the iPad Supreme Gold Edition – yours for only $250,000. This must have accessory boasts 53 individually set sparkling gems alongside a 22ct Apple logo. Built to last, it’s been constructed from a single piece of solid 22ct gold. Hurry! Only ten have been made. You can
