We wish the term 'gun culture' wasn't a real thing, but unfortunately it is and especially so in the US. The United State's Bill Of Rights' Second Amendment declares that '...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Basically if you wanna pack heat then by all means go out and buy yourself a .34 Magnum. And don't get us wrong, people have to protect themselves, their families and their property, but at what cost?
We last checked in with photographer Thomas Prior a couple of years back with his
crazy low flying jet plane series set on Maho Beach. This time, Prior's spent some time with a bunch of hardcore gun enthusiasts. You'd be forgiven for thinking we'd put up the wrong set of photos, as some of them are more akin to a very active battlefield in the Middle East or Eastern Europe. However, it's a just a weapons hoe down out in the middle of somewhere, USA.
The photos are again, in typical Prior style, awesome, but they are also a chilling insight into what some people call fun and just something to do on a Saturday with your mates. What the fuck happened to playing peaknuckle and sinking a few beers at the local?
