It's easy to make assumptions about countries you've only seen on the news. Since 2001, most of the Western world has only had images of a violent Afghanistan; burning bodies, angry faces and crying children.
The makers of the short film
Skateistan have given us another look at Afghanistan. Nominated for an award at Sundance, the film follows the Kabul based NGO Skateistan as they teach young children from troubled areas how to skate. It sounds simple, but in teaching the children (boys and girls), they also provide them a political/religion free environment, free of conflict.
