Mullets are serious business. But they're especially serious in the Colombian city of Medellin. Known locally as colas (tails), the haircut that time forgot is intrinsically linked to the local football team. Everyone from the goal keeper to the wingman rocks the same 'do' and (soccer being what it is in South America) that means all the locals also sport the mullet.
Funny thing is, there's no irony here. The Colombians genuinely think this is the last word in fashionable hairstyles and have really upped the ante when it comes to mullet maintenance / flamboyance. Walk down the street in Medellin on match day and you could be in New Jersey circa 1985. The mullets are thick and luscious and they rule everything around them.
Oh, and the girls are totally into them as well. So a guy's ability to rock 'business at the front, party at the back' is tied back to his dating potential. We're guessing vintage Bon Jovi also goes down real well in the city of Medellin.
