Even though I'm dying to make a "Spitzer or swallows" joke in the aftermath of Governor Eliot Spitzer's recent prostitution scandal, I won't. This collection of photos, gathered by the folks at NPR is a bunch of photographs that, perhaps, aren't mind-blowing in terms of composition; but they are in terms of subject matter, and timing. Each is incredibly telling, sad, and fascinating.
All pictures during or in the wake of political scandal, they capture the women who stood by their man - despite his infidelity and/or crime. You can see humiliation, anger, and sadness in all these photos. Especially Spitzer's wife Silda, who looks like she needs to sleep (in a bed of her own) for about three years. Poor love.
