Man Cheung has embarked on an artistic mission of the same ilk as
Sadako Sakasi and her paper cranes, or local hero Two and his thousand cans. Cheung is taking one photo a day for the rest of his life. Beginning this year, it's off to a flying start. Kooky, interesting, mundane, pretty, ugly, weird, scary, all kinds of images are here, and I'm hoping he keeps it up.
Cheung is a photographer from Brisneyland, who is now based in London, who likes photos of simple, everyday things, and, according to his buddy Haw (who put us onto him) he also really likes playing Nintendo.
The website offers very little information; it's almost solely Cheung's photos. And it's amazing how much you can see of somebody's life through such a mixed bag of images. I feel a little bit like a voyeur. A little bit creepy. A little bit heavy-breathing-stalker-who-doesn't-know-you-but-knows-you'd-be-soulmates. You know? No?
They're cool pictures, and it's an awesome idea.
