Hakanson’s photos are like a tall chai latte, extra honey – don’t be shy with the cinnamon.
We know you don’t want to be hatin’, but we're going to give full permission to be jealous of the young and incredibly talented Nirrimi Hakanson.
At the tender age of 18, Hakanson splits the majority of her time between Sydney and New York City, having been signed to an agency at 16-years-old (when
we first wrote about her) and shooting international fashion company Diesel a year later. Not only are her photographs beautiful, but she also explains herself verbally pretty darn well.
Her website is divided into three sections, For Love, For Living and For Money, making it clear that photography and Hakanson have achieved a kind of Miyagi-level zen, where they have become one and the same.
Basically, the girl has a gift. Youth is no indicator for the kind of haunting beauty of Hakanson’s photographs. Rich in both colour and subject matter, each and every one alludes to a story and is jam-packed with loveliness.
