Maxim Ryazansky takes photos of people all over the USA. No fancy lighting, no overly staged shots, no glamour pusses, this is no no-frills-style photography. And it is still quite mesmerising. Ku Klux Klan members, fundamentalist Christians, yokels, trashbags, hicks, over-indulgent fat cats, regular Joes (and Joelines)... nobody is not worthy of a portrait.
Each more terrifying than the next; fundamentalists protesting against gay rights, Klan members proudly saluting, clowns being creepy; these photos seem all at once wildly scary, funny and real.
