Jessica Hilltout photographs DIY soccer balls she finds in Africa. In her series
Amen she travelled to Mozambique, Benin, Madagascar, and South Africa and hung out with kids playing the 'world game', but perhaps in a different way than you'd see at the FIFA World Cup.
Yarn, old stockings, scraps of towels, and stitched together cotton are just some of the materials that kids in Africa use to construct their soccer balls. Apart from looking fascinating, they're a nice sustainability reminder for us in the western world to make use of what we have.
