Luke
brought Jacques Olivar to our attention last year, and since then the photographer has added a few new images to his website.
Olivar was born in Casablanca and his first job was as a pilot, but flying planes paled in comparison with his love of images. By 1987 Olivar's work was featuring in Vogue, Marie Claire and French Glamour and he was also in charge of high-end designers' images like Giorgio Armani, Hermes and Commes des Garcons.
He has a knack for blending the polished, sleek and flawless with the everyday or ugly, making interesting contrasts and sometimes thought-provoking photographs.
