Were you scared of clowns as a child? Well you're about to be scared of them as an adult.
Over-sized, overs-sexed and overwhelming, Erwin Olaf's photography is like your best worst nightmare. In this recent series of photographs, called Paradise The Club
, Olaf has run away to the circus, but has taken strippers. It kind of reminds us of one of the scenes out of Circus Circus in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
: the camera is going one way, the carousel is going another, and then everyone on it is tripping balls and sending themselves around in circles too. You feel slightly ill, but you want nothing more than to jump in with the action. And take acid. Y'know, whatevs.
In addition to all of the clown-erotica saturation, there is also a series of portraits that he took of the characters involved in the shoot. It's like a lesson on how-not-to-do-your-makeup. Or maybe how-to, if you like looking like a mutant transsexual Shrek.
Olaf's portfolio is as large as the BP oil spill
, but a lot less shit. Lifelounge featured his Mature
series a while back (if you like saucy grandmas, check it out
