The
2012 London Olympics sure have some crazy uptight rules. For one thing, you're not allowed to eat any other hot chips except McDonalds fries in the Olympic stadiums (delicious tyrants!). For another, most signage even vaguely mentioning the Olympics has been deemed illegal.
The list of things banned is as follows:
The Olympic Symbol
The Paralympic Symbol
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Emblems
The London 2012 mascots
The word 'London 2012'
The words 'Olympic', 'Olympiad', 'Olympian' (and their plurals and words very similar to them – eg 'Olympix'
The words 'Paralympic', 'Paralympiad', 'Paralympian' and their plurals and words very similar to them – eg 'Paralympix'
The Olympic Motto: 'Citius Altius Fortius' / 'Faster Higher Stronger'
The Paralympic Motto: 'Spirit in Motion'
The Team GB logo
The ParalympicsGB logo
The British Olympic Association logo
The British Paralympic Association logo
london2012.com (and various derivatives)
The London 2012 sports pictograms
What the what? Like us Craig Atkinson thought London's ban was a little too much, so he's going around the city taking pictures of every sneaky breach of the rules. Eventually he hopes to publish a book of photos from all over London. Sticking it to The Man, right?
