Chris Scarborough has a penchant for making normal people look pretty wacky, just by making them bug-eyed. The photographer, painter and illustrator is inspired by the Japanese pop culture, science fiction, Chinese propaganda posters and the mundane bits of real life.
The result is photographs and illustrations that seem kind of normal at first glance but then the warped and mutated details appear. Giant eyeballs, contortionist flexes, and semi-manic expressions all make Scarborough's characters a little not-quite-right.
