Vancouver based James Nizam is about to give you a headache.
Also known for his sculptures in soon-tp-be-demolished houses, Nizam is working in the same context, but with a different medium. His
Anteroom series takes photographs of completed idyllic houses and projects them onto the walls of abandoned rooms. Exhibiting in homes that are about to go to the great architectural heaven in the sky, the contrast is a little eerie.
We don't recommend that you stare too long at these photographs of photographs - the medical implications have not been proven yet. One part of your brain sees a room, while the other sees an upside-down landscape. When one side tries to right itself, it wrongs the other. Seriously, don't try. It just hurts.
