At first glance, Torbjørn Rødland's photography is just a collection of weird stuff that has absolutely no connection to anything. Nude guys with kittens, cars trapped in trees and a finger stuck in a glass of water don't really strike you as thematic, but when you dig a bit deeper and get to the crux of what Rødland's all about, there's much more to them than meets the eye.
Tired of the pedestrian photo books and '100 best shots of blah blah', Rødland is more interested in "intuitive coherency" than "seriality". They're images that require an investment to understand and even then, you may not actually 'get' his photos on a rational and practical level but in a more instinctual primal level.
