If Hanging Rock existed in her home town of San Celmente in California, then I'm sure that Aimee Brodeur would be having a picnic at it. And we want to be invited, even if it means vanishing into the elusive haze. We'll bring the brie.
Everything is just a little out of focus, like you're looking at her subjects through a thin veil of lace. You see life through her dream-eyes, all heavy and muted. Unlike Inception though, Brodeur's work is simple and won't make you feel like you want to suffocate yourself on a choc-top. She uses light leakage methods and muted tones to infuse her work with a deep-sleep quality.
That or her camera has conjunctivitis.
Brodeur also used to be the in-house photographer for American Apparel back in 2006 when she was just 20. It's nice to see that she hasn't been hit with a whopping sexual harassment law suit or anything like that. Good girl.
