Samantha Casolari's untitled series of photographs of desert lunacy looks like film stills from Mad Max (or for younger readers, Tupac's 'California Love' music video) but is actually an essay documenting Burning Man, an annual art festival centred on "radical self-expression". Went to some engagement drinks the other night and a girl there had been to burning man. I was like "Awesome, I saw that on Malcolm in the Middle. It's looks like a lot of fun." She rolled her eyes. A few minutes later, someone else joined the conversation ans she was still crapping on about Burning Man and they said "Cool, I saw that on Malcolm in the Middle. It's looks awesome." She walked off. What a #$%^.
