Western Pennsylvania-based photographer Randy Rox takes photos that focus on the "decaying beauty and loneliness" of areas of America. Many of the images are from the Rust Belt; areas in the Midwest and Northeast areas of the States that suffered loss of population and deindustrialisation during the 1980s. These places – churches, laundromats, garages, general stores – have a strong sense of isolation and melancholy surrounding them. At the same time, Fox approaches his images of these abandoned places with a sensitivity that really personifies them. Sweet and sad all at once. More at randyfoxphotography.com. Via mashkulture.net.
