China’s answer to Andreas Gursky, Beijing contemporary artist Wang Qingsong crams a hell of a lot of detail into his pictures. An incredibly conceptual artist, his photographs utilise hugely elaborate sets and countless extras to help convey his message, which in many cases seems to be (sometimes humorous) commenting on the effects of Western capitalism and consumer culture on his modern China.
