Nabil is an American born photographer who was raised in Australia, did some surfing, then moved back to Chicago when he was a teenager (that's still enough to claim him as our own though, right?). While studying photography and DJ-ing, Nabil met a shy and retiring dude named Kanye West, who had just put out a mixtape and was looking for representation. After registering the domain name www.kanyewest.com on a whim, he was contacted three weeks later by Roc-A-Fella Records explaining that they has just signed West to a multi-album deal and asking how much Nabil wanted for the domain. Being the crafty bugger he is, Nabil agreed to give them the domain name if he could meet with Kanye and photograph him – hence creating Kanye's first publicity shots. Clever guy.
