After glancing through Mobolaji Dawodu's portfolio, we assumed that he is a photographer who is fortuitous to find exceptionally dressed humans. Then we read his biography and found that he is a stylist, and he's dressing his lucky subjects. Born to a Nigerian fashion designer, New York-based Dawodu has style in his blood and works as a contributing style editor for the very excellent Fader. There is a divine eclecticism and nonchalance to Dawodu's imagery – he calls his personal style 'African Quirk'. That nonchalance, not really trying, and not wearing something to make a point or as a pathetic cry for attention is what makes his look the true essence of "cool".
