Photographer Mary Ellen Mark is a bit of an icon; a contributing photographer to The New Yorker, she has perfected her craft over a 40 year career. Mark has had work published in LIFE, New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, but perhaps her most stunning images are not of the countless celebrities – you name them, Mark has shot them; from Woody Allen, Sir Laurence Olivier, to Mother Theresa. It's the photographer's (who has, incidentally, published 16 books of her works) images of the nameless that are the most compelling. More at maryellenmark.com.
