Gusmano Cesaretti has been taking photos in South America to South East Asia to Haiti for well over 30 years and always manages to reveal something personal and potentially fragile in each of his subjects. One of our favourite projects of Cesaretti is the street photography from '70s East Los Angeles. The Lucca, Italy-born, LA-based photographer perfectly captures the strange balance between the grimy underbelly and the unaware innocence of the city – and those who straddle the blurred line between.
