How do you sum up a whole subculture in just a few images? The thing is you can't, however we don't think that Freddy Hagen's aim is to simplify Copenhagen's Queer community. The photographer is showing us a side to Copenhagen that perhaps we've never seen before, a lively and vibrant queer movement of people of all sexes, colours and ages.
Despite the mainstream nature of the queer community, there is still a culture of homophobia and hate crimes in Denmark. Despite this, the LGBT community is not going to sacrifice any of its visibility.
