If The Satorialist shot photographs while on a bike, you would probably end up with Downtown From Behind. It is a new photographic project coming out of the streets of Manhattan, where all of the city's beautiful people are shot while zipping down yellow cab lined roads. It's a different take on the traditional portrait, with every snap taken from behind the subject, rendering them faceless. All you can depict them from is their choice of ride.
Downtown From Behind is attempting to photograph someone on every street south of 14th, and turn it into a multimedia project. They're nearly done, so we should be hearing something special from them soon. They choose performers, entrepreneurs, stylists, designers, and men and women about town to participate. By the end of the project, they will have a map of not only New York's streets, but also of the people who live within them.
