Craig McDean shoots famous, beautiful women

It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it. British photographer Craig McDean has been working in the magazine world for decades, from his early work with The Face and I-D, to moving into editorial spreads in Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. But maybe it's his work with Interview and W that have really cemented his reputation in the photography world, with his super glossy and highly sexualised portraits of celebrities such as Kate Moss, Rihanna, Uma Thurman and Madonna. Craig's photos seem to have a lot of power about them, especially in challenging the public image of his subject. Fresh from Twilight and wanting to show a more Joan Jett side to her persona, Kristen Stewart sports spiked hair and a cigarette, the usually cheap looking Megan Fox appears classy and self aware.
