From 1970 to 2009, Chilean photographer Camilo Jose Vergara took photos on the streets of Harlem. Whether they were decrepit buildings, elderly couples in their Sunday best or kids playing on curbs, Vergara snapped everything he saw, resulting in a completely comprehensive and priceless record of the neighborhood over the years. For three decades in fact, Vergara travelled across the United States documenting how urban minorities lived, highlighting beauty and degradation in L.A, Illinois, New Jersey and most famously, in New York.
