After being shot into space from the Kazakhstan-based Cosmodrome back in December 2011, Dutch astronaut Andre Kuipers has been busy snapping and tweeting pics of Earth as part of the PromISSe Mission on the International Space Station.
The shots are, in every sense of the word, awesome. And considering the dude is up there to monitor payload operations and vehicle processing, he's done some damn fine work with the old soul catcher. Among the series so far, Kuipers has managed to capture the Aurora Borealis, the Aurora Australis and a bunch of countries both at night and during the day. He's also taken some video and stills of the planet simultaneously turning off its lights for Earth Hour, but he's yet to upload them.
