Doug Rickard's series A New American Picture takes street photography to a whole new level. Collecting images from Google Street View of seemingly forgotten American towns ravished by the devastating economic crisis, Rickard has created a rough and frank series of low-fi drama. The images are re-purposed by Rickard who sets up his own camera and basically screenshots them, giving the 'photos' new life and a grainy, low-res feel that only adds to the inherent desperation.
