While the phrase 'there must be something in the water' is a bit of a cliché, this is absolutely the case for the music scene in Los Angeles right about now. There are many personalities floating around that hulking city and all of them seem to be making next level music.
We’ll name a few, shall we? Well, there’s the Godfather (Carlos Nino and his many projects including Build An Ark, Life Force Trio, Ammoncontact, etc), the mad scientist (Gaslamp Killer) and of course, the ambassador of LA sound (Flying Lotus). Last time Lotus was here, he mentioned that there were many more up and comers that we didn’t even know about (yet). So if you didn’t know about Nosaj Thing before, now you do.
No need to describe 22-year-old Jason Chung’s music – just listen to the clip below (and try to avoid watching the dancing, which we’re currently not too sure about). His first LP is also scheduled for release on June 9, so look out for that too.
