Crystal Castles love leaking. Back in 2010 their
sophomore album Crystal Castles (II) appeared early on the internet, and now their third album
(III) has emerged overnight. Although it was supposed to be out by now, the band claimed that it had been delayed... but now it's on Spotify.
Is this a ploy by the Canadian band to drum up some buzz on their schizophrenic, fuzzy electronica before it's officially released? Is it a careful marketing campaign designed to hoodwink consumers into thinking they have the power? Is terrorism involved?
(Unfortunately Australian users can only stream the first track, but you can also listen to
'Sad Eyes' here and
'Wrath Of God' and 'Affection' here).
Get it while it's free! Here is Crystal Castle's bleak but intriguing third album,
(III):
