This guy, Travis Egedy AKA Pictureplane, is really confusing. There’s no point in describing his music as anything other than straight outta deranged bizarro world, which is most likely an art school influence (an institution I’m assuming he attended). At the moment the fence is still being sat on in regards to the Denver-based musician – one part of the brain argues that he’s just an art douche who picked up a bunch of instruments and thought he would give it a crack; the other counters by offering that he could be the Gary Wilson of our generation.
Whatever he is, it’s confirmed that Pictureplane’s music is a whole bunch of electronic crazy. So we’re putting it out there for you to bear judgement upon, because we just can’t decide. And maybe if you like it, you can hear more of it when his full-length debut Dark Rift is released in August. Maybe.
