Canadian new wave-influenced indie-rock Metric have lost their synths and theremin and are releasing an acoustic album.
Plug In Plug Out is mellow, borderline folksy, and Emily Haines' vocals are (as usual) nonchalant and lovely.
The album features pared-back versions of 'Gimme Sympathy', 'Help I'm Alive', 'Twilight Galaxy' and others. So far, our favourite is 'Gold Guns Girls' – it's so much more defeatist and melancholy than the original. Beautiful.
