Brooklyn duo
Matt and Kim recently
announced that their new album – called
Sidewalks – will be released November 2nd.
Then, yesterday, they leaked their lead single from the album. 'Cameras' is the first taste of the cute-as-a-button pair since their awesome
Grand dropped last year, it's a feel-good summer jam that aural Vitamin D.
It's a track that might sound like a divergence from their previous offerings (evidently, there's already some "I'd liked them before they were popular" talk amongst some music bloggers) but it sounds to this moi like the Matt and Kim we've all grown to dig.
(Also, like to think that the lyric "No time for cameras / we'll use our eyes instead" is a jibe at the Facebook-driven phenomenon of photographing every moment rather than actually living it. Thoughts?)
