It's not that often one tries to make news stories about oneself. However, this time it has to happen, as this story revolves entirely around me. The evidence is overwhelming.
Last night this moi dreamed she met
Q-Tip. (He told me I was awesome, we became BFFs, missed a bus – suffice to say it was all very realistic.) And when I woke up, I was sad that it wasn't real – apart from the missing the bus bit, that was just distressing. Then, suddenly, the delightful Mark Ronson has teamed up with the unstoppable Q-Tip? And they release it today? Right out of nowhere? Coincidence? Doubtful, haters.
On their second (
Q-Tip featured on Ronson's debut LP released 2003
Here Comes The Fuzz) official collaboration 'Bang Bang Bang', the duo has enlisted the help of the bespectacled and cute-as-as-button Amanda Warner, who sounds a bit Santigold-ish on this song. The track is a summery slice – complete with some French lyrics for an extra garnish of adorbs – and promises to be a very radio-friendly ditty.
True to his word,
Ronson has kept his third studio album free of covers after the backlash he received from the very excellent, but oft-slammed
Version. The DJ/producer/musician/swoonfest and is set to release
Record Collection in September this year and it's, in true Ronson style, completely smothered in impressive collaborations: alongside Q-Tip and MNDR are Pill, D’Angelo, Ghostface, Wiley and more. No doubt Melbourne-born
Daniel Merriweather will be there too.

The first leaked track 'Circuit Breaker' from
Record Collection features in last week's
Trashbaggery.
