As if there weren't enough reasons to love Lykke Li already (including her penchant for an over-sized sleeve) she's now done another classic hip hop cover.

Most of you will have encountered her super cute version of A Tribe Called Quest's 'Can I Kick It?', whether online or in real life and now she's taken on gangsta man, Rick Ross. Who knew the lyrics "Who the fuck you think you fuckin' with, I'm the fuckin' boss/ Seven forty-five, white on white that's fuckin' Ross" could sound sweet?

Meanwhile, keep your ears out for the Swedish delight's goading masked as confusion, "Don't you got any jobs? Are you not like working hard?"

As much as I want to be impressed by a pretty Swedish girl who's in to hip-hop, something about those covers is very, very wrong.

No Lykke Li haiku, arielamazing? Meanwhile, her version of 'Can I Kick It?' in Melbourne was anything but wrong.

I feel for ya, Ariel. You do a haiku, and next thing you know people expect you to pull one out in every comment like it's some kind of parlour trick!

I hate her music so much I can not even beging to explain. It's one of those weird things where someones tone and voice is like nails on a blackboard. She is this person to me.

I don't think Rick Ross has anything to worry about.

There's no argument that Mr Ross is certainly safe.

That's what I mean't by "awkward". See, whenever I disagree with KO I seem to get slapped aboot the face. Her version of Can I Kick It? sounded like a bowl of grated awful.

Have to agree with Katie on this. Lykke Li is about as cute as 10 puppies all pleading for attention before they get turned into a fur coat. She can do what she Lykke likes.

Hmmm. The 'tribe' isn't always right though, is it? George W Bush, John Howard, Cronulla Riots, Lord of the Flies... Poor Piggy.

So much dislike. Think, at least, of the balls it takes for a "pretty Swedish girl" to stand out and create such heavily contrasted covers. (More balls than I have, that's for sure). I quite like both of these. And I can see how they're bound for predictably narrow criticism.

I think it's more predictable to gush over her "totally broad and eclectic taste" and "heavily contrasted covers". Jake hit the nail on the head - it all reeks of effort. I mean, even the song choice seems contrived to pander to hipsters (one well-known classic - check; one "ironic" gangsta song - check). If she covered Freestyle Fellowship or Poor Righteous Teachers I'd be slightly more impressed.

Just because you like hip-hop doesn't mean you should advertise it to gain cred by doing covers. Take Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley for example. She's a big hip-hop fan (and her knowledge actually goes beyond the standard native tongues & radio rap combo), but you don't see her doing wack raps at her shows.

The artist formerly known as Prince sounds like he thinks he's an expert in everything but as NotoriousJay said before: the more comments you make doesn't make you right.

Now now, I never meant anybody to feel like they were part of the gang who killed Piggy, I just meant that the majority isn't always correct. But sometimes they are. Just play nice, kids.
